Top 10 Cancer Fighting Super Foods

Top 10 Cancer Fighting Super Foods

These are so simple yet so essential!

1. Cruciferous vegetables such as Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Kale to name a few.

If green is not your colour, well I suggest you start changing that now. Do whatever it takes cuz these babies have some serious cancer fighting properties such as phytochemicals, vitamins, minerals and fiber.

 2. Berries

I’m actually happy about this! I love berries and again they are packed with phytochemicals such as Ellagic Acid, Pterostilbene and Anthocyanins, all of which are antioxidants by the way!

3. Red Wine

Now we’re talking! A special shout out to ma famille… Need I say more? Just a thank you to the red grapes…(in moderate proportions people)

4. Garlic

Right so not the best option to ingest before a “steamy session” but the strong phytochemicals and phytonutrients it contains makes it only just the number one food that prevents, fights or delays cancer progression…no biggy!

5. Green Tea

I’m not going to waste my time here, we all know its benefits and if you don’t then hell I don’t know where you’ve been. Its green, tastes like crap but pretty damn good for you.

6. Turmeric

We Indians are very familiar with this spice, also known as Haldi. Its anti-inflammatory properties protect us against many diseases and slows the growth of a number of cancers.

FYI, NO IT DOES NOT MAKE YOU FAIR!

7. Tomatoes

Pretty insipid in taste except in a mean Bloody Mary, but again with the antioxidant Lycopene you might want to have a few more of these (and I don’t mean Bloody Mary’s).

8. Flax

Preferably in the form of flaxseed oil or powder, either way you ain’t escaping the feeling of its powerful fiber content, literally!

9. Chocolate

Before we get a bit too excited, dark chocolate is what I mean and the darker the better..! Hey it’s still delicious, great to satisfy a sweet tooth and with the cacao beans you are having one of the most natural sources of antioxidants.

10. Avocados

One of my most favorite fruits (yes it’s a fruit) and is really good for you. A healthy fat that pays a pivotal role in preventing and reversing cancer. So go ahead and spice up your guacamoles!

Firstly I am not a nutritionist and second there are 8 other foods on that list!! Haha yes on the other hand this list can be quite exhaustive. Wanted to pick out the foods that were very general and tend to use regularly. So we can make valued decisions when cooking or shopping for groceries. Which includes only drinking a glass or two of red wine and the darker the chocolate the better. Try and stick to 75 to 80 percent dark or more. In fact I sometimes have pure cacao chocolate. It’s fantastic!
